Nonwoven Fabric for Embroidery Backing

Nonwoven embroidery fabric is a material used to support and stabilize embroidery designs during stitching. It can be composed of synthetic fibers or a blend of both, chemically or thermally bonded.

Nonwoven embroidery fabric comes in various weights and thicknesses to accommodate different embroidery projects. Lightweight fabrics are ideal for delicate materials like silk or satin, while heavier fabrics are used for more durable materials like denim or canvas.

The embroidered fabric is placed behind the backing, and stitches are made through both layers – the fabric and the backing – to prevent puckering or distortion during stitching and to keep the design clear and crisp. Once the embroidery is complete, any excess backing can be trimmed for a neat finished product. Nonwoven embroidery fabric is widely used in commercial and industrial embroidery applications, as well as home embroidery projects.
